Hello, me again! I know two posts in one day? But there is just so much going on I want to share with you. Last month my favorite designer, Little Lizard King, put on a super fun month long contest. The challenge was to “take two or more Little Lizard King patterns and mash them into an amazing new creation.” You can read about the contest in full detail here. There are four different categories and some amazing prizes to be won.
I chose to create something beautiful for the first category, “Sew All The Patterns”. The goal was to combine as many patterns as possible. Since it was released I have adored the skirt to The Merry dress and I used that element as the base for my creation. I found this beautiful vintage market fabric on Mama Made and Beautiful (also one of the wonderful sponsors for this contest) and ideas started filling my head. I used the Harbor for my bodice but modified the length since the Merry is an empire skirt. I added pockets from the Ani-mazing Suspender Skirt to finish the look.
Ava took one look at the dress and squealed with excitement. She was so excited to try on her “Market Dress” (as she named it). Her name for the dress inspired our mini photo shoot outside of Joe Patti’s Fish Market.
Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed my March Mash Up and I would love your help to win. You can join the Little Lizard Cafe Facebook Group and vote on my picture under the Sew All Patterns album.
