Simple Life Pattern Co Anniversary Blog Tour

Can I just tell you how excited I am to be a part of the Simple Life Patterns Anniversary blog tour?  Remember when I said I had big some news to share!?!  Well, a few months ago I joined the Simple Life Patterns team.  I have been quietly working on the first 2 SLPco. doll patterns and I couldn’t think of a better way to tell you about them then this tour!  Be sure to read to the end for your chance to win a Dolly and Me Bundle.

At Christmas, my daughter received her first American Girl doll and of course she was going to need some clothes for her.  I couldn’t have timed it more perfectly if I tried since Katie and I just talked about adding the doll line and I was going to need a model!

Dolly and me is now officially the “cool thing” in our house.  My daughter asked me the other day if I would make her dolls dresses to match all of the dresses in her closet.  I guess I better get sewing!

The dolly Molly includes all of the beautiful features that made you fall in love with the girl’s Molly.  I swoon every time I see that sweet peter pan collar and faux pin tucking on the bodice.  It is drafted for the 18″ AG dolls as well the smaller 14″ Wellie Wishers and like the girl’s Molly, the doll pattern also has a placket for easy dressing.  I used kam snaps in the tutorial so little hands could easily dress the dolls, although a few of the testers used a small button and it worked well for them.

Those gorgeous matching felt bows are from Lennyn Reese.  It is my new favorite place to shop for bows.  If you don’t see what you are looking for she makes some amazing custom creations!

For these dresses I finally cut into the Gentle Mantle in Flame from Maureen Crackell’s Fleet and Flourish line for Art Gallery Fabrics.  I love everything about the fleet and flourish line but the gentle mantle has a special place in my heart.  When we moved to the Gulf Coast from New Mexico two years ago, I never imagined I would miss the desert so much.  This fabric reminds me of the desert’s beauty and brings me back to my roots every time I look at it.

There is also the dolly Ayda pattern available and yesterday, Eleri over at Sew and Tell Project showed us an adorable gathered skirt Ayda she made for her daughter.  Go check it out!

What other SLPco. patterns are you looking for in our doll line?  Leave me a comment, I’d love to know!!
