Sydney Raglan and Taylor Leggings {Laela Jeyne Patterns}

This post is sponsored by LaFinch Fabrics.  Josie was so generous to send all of the beautiful fabric you see in this post.

I pretty much live in leggings and slouchy tops as soon as the weather gets below 70, so I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when Laela Jeyne Patterns put out the tester call for exactly that.

The Taylor Leggings are perfect for any weather with ankle, cropped, and below the knee lengths and they have a tapered waistband for optimal fit.

Not only are these leggings so easy to wear but they sewed up in a breeze due to the one piece leg  with one seam.

Funny story, I suffer from migraines and during the test I had one that lasted for a few days.  I read the instructions wrong and cut four legs instead of two and sewed them all together.  I hadn’t even realized what went wrong until I tried them on.  Once I did figured out my mistake and unpicked the entire thing, I had no trouble and ended up with 2 pairs of leggings.  Now I have a Christmas gift for one lucky friend! 🙂

The Sydney Slouchy Raglan is my new go to for the cooler weather.  Sydney is a tunic length raglan with a slouchy or swing silhouette fit and can be made v-neck or off the shoulder with a hi-lo hem or round hem.  It offers a relaxed or slouchy sleeve style with 2 lengths, 3/4 or long.  The pattern can be made with an optional hooded cowl.

Like all Laela Jeyne Patterns, The Sydney and Taylor offer no trim pages, layered pattern pieces and finished measurement charts.

I used this gorgeous Garden Mauve Floral  from LaFinch Fabrics for the leggings and I love how they turned out.  The ponte de roma was such a dream to work with.  The stability of this knit makes it the perfect starting point for someone just exploring knits.  It has a medium weight making these particular legging ideal for the cooler months.  I couldn’t believe how soft and cozy these leggings were, all day I found myself petting my legs.

For the first look I used a super soft French Terry, Josie personally picked out for me, to make the off the shoulder slouchy style raglan.

This next Sydney was made using Monterey Weekender Burnout Sweater Knit.  I thought it might be a little too much for the entire raglan so I used the wrong side of the fabric for the bodice front and back.  I absolutely love how this sweater knit has two completely different looks.
