Ann from Designer Stitch has designed another beautifully flawless pattern. Her newest blouse, The Bridget Top, is perfectly on trend with today’s style.
The Bridget Top is a semi-fitted blouse with endless sleeve options. It is drafted for different bust sizes to ensure the best possible fit. This top offers 2 different lengths, a rounded or v-neck and features an optional soft tie belt.
I chose the rounded neckline with a split sleeve. I cut at the low hip mark but didn’t take into account my longer torso. The top turned out beautifully but my next one I will be sure to add an additional inch.
I originally planned to use a chocolate brown and white polka dot rayon fabric I had in my stash but literally moments before I was about to start cutting, my mailman brought me a package with this gorgeous Art Gallery voile inside. I threw all other plans aside, washed my new fabric and got to work.
This night, I was in a particularly lazy mood while sewing and skipped over the zipper insertion steps. Since I changed my fabric plans, I didn’t have a zipper that matched and because a few other testers mentioned doing the same I knew I was going to be ok.
My children love untying anything they can get their hands on so in order to avoid any fashion faux pas this could cause I also sewed the ties directly to the center of the split sleeve. Now if they do get their hands on the ties at least my shirt won’t fall off my arms. 🙂
